Since cats were animals in ancient Egypt, they were commonly believed to have been domesticated there, but there may have been instances of domestication from around 9,500 years ago.
Thousands of years later, the people in Egypt had a religion that worshiped animals, including cats. The cat became a symbol of grace and poise.
